Villa Pick and Dessa Gallery

On 25 March, the city council declared Vila Pick in Rozžni dolina, 1 Rutarjeva Street, and the Dessa Gallery, both in Ljubljana, a cultural monument of local importance.

At the town meeting on 25 March, they were declared a cultural monument of local importance:

Villa Pick in Rozni dolina, Rutarjeva street 1, Ljubljana

The villa was built in 1915 to designs by the Czech architect Pavel Janák (1882-1956), the most prominent representative of Czech Cubism. One of the main values justifying its designation as a cultural monument is the fact that the villa is the only known work by a Czech architect in this country and one of the few works by him outside his homeland.

Dessa Gallery in Ljubljana (EID 1-18888) in Ljubljana, 4 Židovská steza Street

One of the main values that justify the designation as a cultural monument is the intact postmodernist design, execution and conceptually well thought-out interior design of the four spaces of the DESSA Gallery.
