During conservation and restoration work in 2018, the Aljaž Tower was mechanically cleaned and newly protected with light and dark grey protective coatings. Before being reinstalled on top of Triglav, the tower was analytically examined using various portable instruments. This approach makes it possible to determine the material composition and document the initial condition of the new coatings, which provides an important basis for monitoring the condition and planning future conservation and restoration work on the Aljaž Tower.
