Svisli in the Cerklian Region

A discussion on the results of the field documentation of the sisli, which are an indispensable part of the Cerkno landscape, and the presentation of the catalogue will take place on 2 December 2025 at 6 pm in the lecture room of the VVC, Bevkova 22, Cerkno.

Between 3 and 6 April 2025, in Cerkljansko, the ZVKDS conservators, with the help of local experts, employees of the Triglav National Park Public Institution and students of the Ethnological Conservation course, which is taught at the first level of the Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology degree at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana, carried out the recording and documentation of the vertically (sskj: svisli-i/f noun, svísu ed., representing a building for storing fodder, straw, hay: to put hay on the svisli; they slept on the svisli).

The result of the four-day intensive field survey in seven settlements of Cerkno, Gorija, Dolenji Novaky, Labinje, Jesenice, Raven pri Cerknem and Bukove is the completion of about 30 census/inventory sheets of the plummet with cartographic backing, the taking of hundreds of photographs, the measurement and production of 10 technical photographs of the existing condition of various types of plummet and Catalogue verticals.
