Handbook

The Slovenian translation of the Handbook and Tools for Impact Assessment in the World Heritage Context, prepared by UNESCO together with international expert bodies, has been published. The Handbook provides practical guidance on heritage impact assessment for States Parties to the World Heritage Convention (1972), heritage managers and professionals, planners and policy makers. It serves as a key tool for avoiding adverse impacts on World Heritage properties and for identifying sustainable solutions, particularly for sites threatened by increasing development pressures, including urbanisation, tourism infrastructure, roads, dams, power plants and other major developments.
