Minister Dr Asta Vrečko visited the Restoration Centre

The Minister saw a painting by Vittore Carpaccio, an altarpiece created for the Cathedral of Koper - Mary with the Child and the Six Saints, or Sacra Conversazione, a popular motif of the time, showing Mary and Jesus on the throne, surrounded by saints and donors. Another very interesting project is the Celje Ancient Ceiling Paintings - in 2017, excavations in Celje's Museum Square unearthed, among other things, a villa from the 1st century AD, which also contained ceiling paintings from the same period. In the wood department, she saw the oldest wooden head of John the Baptist from Ribčev Láz, which is currently undergoing natural history research, and in the stone department, she saw bronze sculptures from Brdo pri Kranju, which are also currently undergoing analysis and probing. In addition to the above, she also gained insight into the work of many other projects in the departments of the Restoration Centre.

The Minister was received by Jernej Hudolin, Director General of the ZVKDS and Martina Lesar Kikelj, Head of the Restoration Centre.
