"From fresco to fresco" hike
You are cordially invited to the "FROM FRESCA TO FRESCA" hike
Did you know that not everything painted on a wall is a fresco? Did you know that in the Middle Ages, painters often painted scenes in predefined places? Why did they do this and what did they paint? Would you like to look at frescoes with the eyes of a restorer and see what is otherwise hidden and invisible? Would you like to experience the thrill and joy of discovering a mural?
You will get the answers to your questions on a walking tour of the churches of Divac, which are home to beautiful medieval paintings. We will start our adventure at Gradišče near Divača, descend into the canyon of the River Rijeka, climb to the ruins of Školj Castle, continue to Famlje and cross the Škofelj Bridge to Nakleg. At the churches, we will be met by experts who will present the murals and organise various workshops for children and adults.

Participants are asked to bring water, snacks if necessary and good walking shoes. Food and drinks will be provided on arrival in Famlje and Naklo.
In case of bad weather, the walk will be postponed to Saturday, 4 October 2025, and participants will be informed in due time.
The event will take place as part of the 35th European Heritage Days and is completely FREE.
