Training in the protection of archaeological remains
Lectures on the use of metal detectors will take place on Saturday, November 28, 2026, in Ljubljana.

Training topics:
- Brief presentation of Slovenian legislation in the field of obtaining permits;
- An overview of the development of archaeology as a discipline;
- Methods of searching and documenting archaeological finds, for example in the case of researching the scenes of battles and modern conflicts;
- Conservation – the meaning of first aid for metal archaeological finds;
- Presentation of the procedure for obtaining a permit and the lawful use of metal detectors.
All interested parties can register for free training.

The registered participants will be informed about the exact location and training schedule in time via email.

Upon completion of the training, participants receive a certificate from the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia in accordance with Article 32 of the ZVKD-1.
