Brezjanka
Sanitation works have begun on the Brezjanka Pavilion, a 1939 work by Plečnik, in Begunje na Gorenjskem as of yesterday. Research has shown that it was moved to its current location in 1954, and comprehensively restored for the first time between 1990 and 1993, as it suffered many damages during several years of severe weather. In the floods of 2023, the pavilion sustained damage that requires its dismantling to carry out sanitation works, primarily on its base, foundations, and flooring, as well as consequently on its wooden structure and roof tiles. The Restoration Centre and ZVKDS OE Kranj have jointly prepared a sanitation report, based on which the Ministry of the Environment, Spatial Planning and Architecture (MNVP) then approved funds for the owner, the Municipality of Radovljica, amounting to approximately EUR 150,000. The company Gnom d.o.o. was selected through a public tender and will carry out the planned specialised restoration works on the entire pavilion by October.
The respectable conservators are Nataša Ülen (architecture), Nataša Koruza (landscape architecture), and Dr. Renata Pamić (timber structures).
