For the third time, the Mrak Homestead, owned by the Municipality of Bled, will be open to the public on the Open Day. Since autumn, construction work has been underway on the outbuilding, which will be used as a gallery for the sculptor Slavko Oblak. The orchard and courtyard have also been landscaped. The 17th-century house is still awaiting renovation, but this time it will also be possible to take guided tours of its interior in small groups.
The homestead is managed by the Bled Institute of Culture.
The event will also be attended by the Gorenjska Museum and the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, Regional Unit Kranj, who will present the research carried out so far on the homestead and its inhabitants.
Visitors will be able to see the progress of the renovation of the homestead, which includes the garden, outbuildings and Slavko Oblak Gallery, under the guidance of Dr Ana Vrtovec Beno, curator of the Gorenjska Museum, and Saša Roškar, conservator of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia, Kranj Regional Unit.
