On Friday, 24th of July 2020, a press conference and the opening of the transnational photo exhibition of the REFREsh project took place in the former salt warehouse Monfort (Obala 8) in Portorož. In the introduction those present were welcomed by the Mayor of the Municipality of Piran, Mr. Đenio Zadković, followed by a presentation of the project and implemented project activities.
The REFREsh project (Rural rEvitalisation For cultuRal hEritage), which is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, deals with the revitalisation of industrial heritage in cultural centres of creative industries as a starting point for the development of abandoned industrial areas , municipalities and regions in Central Europe. It brings together ten project partners from Germany, Hungary, Croatia, Italy and Slovenia.
The transnational photo exhibition of the REFREsh project comprises 30 photographs showing the industrial, craft and working traditions of all participating countries. Each country selected 6 photographs, which are exhibited in all five regions. Due to the pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, we have decided together with the project partners that the exhibition will also be available in virtual form.
