In Ljubljana in the period between 2015–2017, we will be carrying out the complete renovation of the former Hotel Tivoli, also known as “Švicarija”. The Hotel Tivoli was erected in 1909 upon the initiative of the hotel owner Ivan Kende and under the auspices of an investor from the Municipality of Ljubljana, following the plans of the architect Ciril Metod Koch.

Major Ivan Hribar’s and his cabinet’s idea was to design the hotel in a rustic style that would reflect the nation's consciousness. The final product was a simple yet high-quality hotel with features of Upper Carniola Alpine architecture. The Švicarija had, throughout its history, been full of cultural life – from concerts, theatrical and literary events to artistic creation with occasional exhibitions. With the placement of art studios in the Švicarija, its future will continue to incorporate artistic and gallery activities.

The entire renovation consists of a static and fire-safety rehabilitation, renovation of the roofing and the interior of the building as well as conservation and restoration work, which comprise the rehabilitation of the façade using wooden and artistic elements and elements made of artificial stone, the exterior and interior fittings as well as decorative wall paintings in the interior.
