Tasks of the Conservation Centre
- to work on and direct the development of the conservation and restoration profession
- to manage and carry out preliminary research into the monuments referred to in the second indent of the second paragraph of Article 34 of the Act more
- to compile conservation plans for monuments owned by the state
- to compile documentation for conservation and restoration projects involving complex work
- to plan, manage and implement complex conservation and restoration work on monuments and on monuments owned by the state that are financed by the state budget for culture
- to participate in the assessment of and care for the material state of heritage and monuments
- to carry out research projects commissioned by the Ministry in the area of heritage protection
- to cooperate with national authorities and provide them with professional assistance in procedures relating to the possible granting of heritage status
- to provide documentation for conservation and restoration activities
- to provide internships and supplementary training
- to provide work experience for those engaged in courses of study in conservation and restoration
- to develop public awareness of conservation and restoration activities
- to manage immovable monuments owned by the state.
(5) The Restoration Centre also performs the following tasks which are not financed by the state budget for culture:
compiles conservation plans for monuments not owned by the state
- manages and carries out preliminary research into the monuments referred to in the second indent of the first paragraph of Article 34 of the Act
- compiles documentation for conservation and restoration projects involving less complex work
- plans, manages and implements less complex conservation and restoration work
- carries out research and other protection-related projects that are financed on the basis of contracts
- carries out training and lifelong learning programmes in the area of conservation and restoration
- manages immovable monuments not owned by the state.
