International scientific meetings

The IPCHS, in cooperation with other institutions, organises the following international scientific meetings in the jubilee year 2013:


International legal standards for heritage protection in a period of economic recession and tools for safeguarding protection standards

2 – 4 May 2013, Bled, Slovenia

The aims of the symposium are to revisit the position of cultural heritage in different European legislation systems protecting the cultural environment, to showcase good examples from different countries and bring together a range of experts and international actors, to disseminate the results to the wider public at the national and international level, and to propose potential follow-up activities.


7th international Congress on the Application of Raman Spectroscopy in Art and Archaeology

 6 September 2013, Ljubljana Castle, Slovenia

The Congress is one of the most important events in the field of scientific research on cultural heritage, and it exceeds the frames of the European Union, as many scientists from world famous institutions, such as Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY, Getty Conservation Institute, LA, Smithsonian Museum Conservation Institute, MD, Art Institute of Chicago, University of Buenos Aires, National Museum of China, etc.
